I had a user deleted data from a folder on the server by accident and asked me to do a restore from backups. &nbsp;We are using Windows Server Backup that comes with Server 2008R2. &nbsp;When I attempt to do a restore I select the day and everything and when I go to the directory it does not show any data. &nbsp;This folder is one that ONLY that user has access to and is the owner of. &nbsp;If I navigate to other folders I can see those just fine. &nbsp;What happened? &nbsp;Does Windows Backup not backup files and folders that the Administrator does not have access to?

Backup/Restore primarily serves as a means of protection against data loss, be it due to disaster, corruption or sabotage. It can also be used for recovering data from an earlier point in time and even for cloning machines or applications. There is a wide variety of backup/restore software available, from expensive commercial products to free or open source tools.
