Yes I acn logon and start working. After I leave the computer idle for a while it hangs
Use MSConfig to rule out any uneeded Startup Items, and even try the process of elimination, by disabling all Startup Tab Items, then retest. Then go to the Services Tab, and select "Hide MS Services", and then select "Disable All

Thats in start>run>msconfig

If it doesnt happen after disabling, then you can re enable until you find the culprit.

Also, might wanna grab a copy of the UBCD, and test the RAM.

Boot to it, and run Memtest.

Same for the Drive test....

Also, check the inside of the case, and make sure the fans are clean, and the power supply also is free of dust..... Anything that can help to make sure there is no overheating in the case....
If the computer hangs only after being left idle, then the problem could be caused by the screen saver or sleep/hibernate options. Try turning off the screensaver and changing the power mode to "Never Sleep", meaning don't let the laptop hibernate.

You can probably change the power settings easily by clicking on the battery icon in the system tray near the clock.
