HP battery issue - not able to boot up

noticed that for laptops, at times can't be booted up. We had to remove the battery, put it back again in order to boot the laptop. This happens especially to HP laptops. Any reason why and any workaround/preventive measures to prevent the issue from occuring?

In my experience, these symptoms are caused by motherboard power contacts failing to make secure connection with the battery.

The problem can be caused by wear on battery latches, warping of contacts, dirty contacts, or worn contacts.  The problem may be either on the battery or on the laptop.  The more a battery is inserted and removed, the worse the problem becomes.

Replacing the battery with an all-new one (not "refurbished") may help; cleaning the contact points with isopropyl alcohol may also help.  In extreme cases, duct-taping the battery in may solve the problem - at the cost of looking cheap.

Do not under any circumstances use an abrasive to clean battery contacts - not even an eraser.  The gold plating is extremely thin.

you can also try this bleeding method (it worked for me) :
disconnect battery and AC
hold power button for 20 sec
reconnect and test

oh, what I meant was we tried to drain the static, as what you mentioned. this method was also what HP support told us to try. In your scenario, does your laptop has the same issue come back again maybe few months later after you tried this method?
