datatype of columns in sybase and oracle

There is a table that exists in sybase and oracle. It is migrated from sybase to oracle.
i need to ensure that the datatypes in oracle are as per mapping i.e char to varchar2 etc

SELECT * from syscolumns WHERE id = object_id('iv_portfolio_link')
in sybase does not return datatype names like following statement returns in oracle

Desc RDSCORE.iv_portfolio_link

How can i get comparable datatype names
