The information of the FEP Integration in SCCM in based the FEP Collections which are created during FEP installation. At the moment i do not have a sccm fep reference machine and so cannot answer your question.
As is know the Collection Structure "Deployment Status" is based on the executed Advertisement, so when you install the FEP Client without the Advertisement, you will never get the information into the Console / the FEP Dashboard.
You could build a own collection which contains each clients where the FEP Client is listed in Add/Remove Programs. This informatiion is captured from the Hardware Inventory

No i don't think there's another way. You have to deploy it via SCCM.
maybe it's a good idea to check out why the FEP Client did not install at the 10 machines or?

Can you post the query of one of the FEP Deployment State Collections? I want to have a look what exaclty the Collections are looking for.
I just have no reference machine where FEP is installed.
