I'm getting a memory alarm on one of my VMware boxes.
It's got a total of 16GB installed and 13GB are being used.
Is this alarm normal?

The alarm says:

 host memory usage

    Accepted Solution

If you still have a few GB free, you shouldn't worry too much.

The yellow alarm does indicate that you probably could get better performance by adding more memory.
    LVL 5

    Assisted Solution

It means you have used 90% of your host memory for more than 5 mins. If you go to the Alarms tab, then Triggered Alarms you can accept and clear the alarm.

    Hope this helps.
