Odd network printing issue

We have a Xerox printer that is shared via a print server on windows 2003 server. We have had 4 users printing to it fine for a while now. We added a new user in the group to print. Any time we install the drivers on this new user’s machine the 4 others can no longer print. Unless we do a reinstall of the drivers on all 4 of their machines. . Once that is done however the single user can no longer print to the printer. These laptops are all windows 7 with the same drivers . I am really at a stopping point now and looking  to see if anyone else has seen this. I have looked this issue up on google they had stated to disable bidirectional printing on the print que this however did not help

What happens if you just add the printer as a local tcp/ip port, bypassing the server?
