# Excel Formula

I need a formula that looks at a value in a cell A1 and has to decipher the following:

If the value is negative such as (-125) you divide 100 by 125 -> 100/125 = 0.8
If the value is positive such as  (+130) you divide 130 by 100 -> 130/100 = 1.3

The value in cell A1 changes from positive to negative often.

=IF(A1<0,100/A1,A1/100)

Every result must be a positive number.  The above gives me -0.8 for a -125 value when it should be 0.8

Works for the +130 value though

Just a tweak:

=IF(A1<0,100/-A1,A1/100)
