Cisco switches don't really do a true promiscuous mode. This is by design for security. If you need this for monitoring purposes then you would want to use port mirroring.

Syntax for Cat6k:
Cat6k(config)# monitor session session_number source {{single_interface | interface_list | interface_range | mixed_interface_list | single_vlan | vlan_list | vlan_range | mixed_vlan_list} [rx | tx | both]} | {remote vlan rspan_vlan_ID}}
Cat6k(config)# monitor session session_number destination {single_interface | interface_list | interface_range | mixed_interface_list} | {remote vlan rspan_vlan_ID}}

If that doesn't make since you can reference:

What we have is a VDI solution that is bridging multiple IP address across the port.    As soon as we the port sees this, it goes into  Err-disable mode and shuts down the port.  Is there anything we can do to prevent the port from shutting down.

Is the port active already or is this a new config? You'll have to create a pvlan and map it accordingly....

It sounds like you are causing a spanning tree loop. Are you plugged into multiple ports on the switch? And how do you have your logical VDI switch setup?

What we actually had to do was "spanning-tree bpduguard disable"   and the problem was resolved.
