I was installing sql cluster 2008 r2 on win 2008 r2. received warnings that windows cluster group was offline. The windows cluster IP address was in use, so it was showing as failed. So, can I ignore the warning or resolve that first?

What problems might be experienced if Windows cluster is offline?

    Accepted Solution

Well, that means that your SQL Server will not be able to be configured.  If your Windows Cluster is offline, then SQL Server setup cannot configure your SQL Server to be in the cluster.  You need to resolve the issue with the IP and then install SQL after that.
