What is the best method for moving Outlook Public folder Customer Contacts into CRM?  There does not seem to be a Track in CRM or Set Regarding button available.

CRM for Outlook only synchronizes with the main contacts in Outlook and no public folders.

If you want to get the contacts from a public folder into CRM you can either:
    - export them to a CSV file and then import them or
    - copy the contacts from the public folder to the main contacts of a user and then track them from there

If I export to CVS and import, how do I associate the contacts with a particular Account?  In other words, might it not be as easy to copy all the Public Contact to a private mailbox and do Set Regarding so that they can be assigned to the correct account at that time?

    Accepted Solution

To link a contact to a particular account you use the Parent Customer field on the contact. So in the csv file, add a column called Parent Customer and write in the correct account name (as it exists in CRM). When you import the file, CRM will link the contact to the account.

If you do it in Outlook manually, I think you meant the Set Parent button instead of the Set Regarding button.

Set Parent, Yes.  By the time we get the correct account names added to an excel file without typos, etc, manually setting parents will be easier.
