    Accepted Solution

Don't you already have it installed? You need active directory for exchange 2010.

I guess you have it on another server?

It is fine to have active directory on the exchange server. I am running it now and I know others who are running it as well.

i don't recommend this, as if you have any problem with the DC, you can't uninstall active directory services from the server, so it's applicable but not recommended

Yes, I second with msabry06. Also, if you have both AD & exchange on the same box, there might performance issues as both are resource consuming. Therefore, its always recommended to have AD & exchange on different boxes
