Unable to install Cisco AnyConnect Client 3.0.0629 on Windows XP

Hi All,

I am having issues installing the cisco anyconnect client on an XP machine.  The error message in the application log indicates there is an issue installing the virtual adaptor.

Product: Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action kdf_acsint_Install, location: C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\VACon.exe, command: kdf -install "C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\\" acsint

There are solutions on the Cisco website that advise to install with quiet switches and no active x etc... All attempted.  I have updated the windows installer to version 4.5 and still receive the same error.  All AV etc has been disabled as part of the install process.  The machine does have the VMWare client installed and I read this can conflict with the install of the VPN adaptor so I will remove this and retry.

I checked the RunOnce regkey as specified for previous versions and collected msinfo and msi installer logs - attached. MSIdcd3a.LOG

Just for giggles....

start>run>regsvr32 atl.dll

Then retry.... Dont think a reboot is needed...

Im going off memory, of the MSI ERR Code, although it was on v2.3 methinks?
