Blackberry owa problem

Here is a weird problem.

I can connect my blackberry to access email using bis... But when i use imap i get duplicate emails.
so i changed to owa and now i can only send emails but do not receive emails.

what could be the cause of not being able to receive emails using owa on my blackberry.

It is setup correctly i get no failed messages. it is definitely connected using owa. So i can not figure out why it will not work right. Every forum says to resolve this duplicate email problem I just have to setup the bb using owa. so now i am stuck with imap and duplicate emails until i can get owa to work. or change the uidvalidity on the server, if that is possible. any help would be appreciated. This is a 500 point question for the right answer.

Hi,

Here are some known issues described: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02858

What version of exchange are you using?

And isn't blackberry enterprise server express a option you can sync your blackberry directly with your exchange with your own server (and it is free)

No proxy server setup at all...

@ronnypot, it's a good idea. I am using SBS running exchange. I saw that BESE can be installed on this type of server. Not sure if it will effect anything if i run this on the current exchange server. Have you ever installed this before?

Yes done this multiple times. Please note that it uses some additional resources like minimum of 1GB ram is needed.

If you have SBS 2008 here http://www.smallbizserver.net/Articles/tabid/266/Id/343/How-to-install-BlackBerry-Enterprise-Server-Express-on-a-SBS-2008.aspx is a great installation manual.

Another question i have is, I read you only get 1 free user license with BESE? did I misread?

ronnypotCommented:
Sorry no manual for that but I thought you get a link to installation manuals when downloading the BESE software from the blackberry site.

@mildogz: no it's for just 1 user. I  am not 100% sure, but I thought it is limited to 50 users

OK cool, Thanks Ronnypot, this is definitely an option for me to look more into.
not sure if the site would want to pay for additional user licenses though...

But I still want to figure out why OWA will not work when connecting to the blackberry.
I can send emails out. but just can't receive any emails.  The link about known issues did not have my issue listed.
and it sucks because if I could just get this owa to work correctly this will resolve the duplicate emails problems these user get when setup using imap.

to be sure, you can just logon to owa via a browser and send and receive email?

mildogzAuthor Commented:
Yes,  I tested his credentials using OWA and OWA via a browser works normal...

I fixed the problem by backing up the mailbox and deleting the mailbox on exchange. I then purged the mailbox and once removed from the store. I recreated the mailbox again.

User is now able to use owa on the blackberry.

No problem for the help and thanks for that.
I don't exactly know howto, but I think you have to choose a comment as an assisted solution and then can give some points.
