I cannot find the format command in diskpart.exe on my Widnows 2003
Hi everyone,
Server: HP DL380 G5
OS: Windows 2003, R2
Raid Controller: HP Smart Array P400
HDD: 500GB 6G SAS 7.2K rpm SFF 2.5
I use diskpart.exe for formatting, but I cannot find the "format" command when I do DISKPART>Help

ADD - Add a mirror to a simple volume.
ACTIVE - Marks the current basic partition as active.
ASSIGN - Assign a drive letter or mount point to the selected volume.
AUTOMOUNT - Enables and disables automatic mounting of basic volumes.
BREAK - Break a mirror set.
CLEAN - Clear the configuration information, or all information, off the disk.
CONVERT - Converts between different disk formats.
CREATE - Create a volume or partition.
DELETE - Delete an object.
DETAIL - Provide details about an object.
ATTRIBUTES - Manipulate volume attributes.
EXIT - Exit DiskPart
EXTEND - Extend a volume.
GPT - Assigns attributes to the selected GPT partition.
HELP - Prints a list of commands.
IMPORT - Imports a disk group.
INACTIVE - Marks the current basic partition as inactive.
LIST - Prints out a list of objects.
ONLINE - Online a disk that is currently marked as offline.
REM - Does nothing. Used to comment scripts.
REMOVE - Remove a drive letter or mount point assignment.
REPAIR - Repairs a RAID-5 volume with a failed member.
RESCAN - Rescan the computer looking for disks and volumes.
RETAIN - Place a retained partition under a simple volume.
SELECT - Move the focus to an object.

I think you misunderstood my issue. My issue that I cannot find "format" command in my diskpart verison. I would like to know if there are any issues OR missing OR out updating in my diskpart version. If yes, please give me the download link.

Maybe that version did not have it. Try the format command instead.

I tried to use format and Disk Management. But both of them failed.
Don't think you'll find a format command in the 2003 version of diskpart, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995867%28EXCHG.65%29.aspx for example - create the partition using diskpart then format it using format.exe or windows disk management.
