Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I need to in stall for IIS to install wsus on windows 2003 ??? I have searched everywhere for it ? Is there a guide for this ?

I have a windows 2003 r2 x64 server and am fine with the install of wsus but just want to get a list of iis components that need to be installed ?

BTW if you install it on 2008 the thing most people seem to miss is the "Windows Authentication" I think they assume it is already installed.

Hi,

Thanks for the above. Here my gripe Install iis 6.0 under application server ? Do I just go with the defaults, so application sevrer and click iis ?

The bits upgrade is for 32 bit only ? is it needed on 64 bit ?

The instructions for 2008 are much easier to use it tells you what you need ?

any ideas ?

BITS for both iirc

I think you install IIS with the defaults plus ASP...adding that won't harm anything.

The WSUS install process will advice you that something is missing, it simply will not proceed with the install.

Thanks for that I will give it a go and let you know. It is just so annoying in IT that there are no real explinations sometimes you are just meant to try it and see !
