I just inherited a Syncsort BEX 3.2 backup server running on Windows 2003 and fiber connected to a T200 and an EMC NAS.
The backup admin quit and I am trying to get backup running again.  I keep getting erros sayin gthat backups are failing because the tapes are full.  I replaced the tapes with new tapes right out of the box.  The software does not see the tapes only the old ones.

I need help figuring out how to ge tthe BEX software to recognze the tapes so that I can resume the backup jobs.

You may want to try creating a new media set in BE, then tie the new media to the backup jobs you have set up.

I figured out the problem I had to go into Operate Jukebox and then format and then write teh labels to the tapes before I could use them.

Since then we have abandoned BEX and went with a new simpler solution.
