Unable to Create Public Folders on new Exchange 2010 Server
Hello,
I am trying to create Public Folders on my new Exchange 2010 server, but for some reason it will not let me. Here is the error I get:
New Public Folders
Completed
Exchange Management Shell command completed:
new-publicfolderdatabase -Server 'VLAB01' -Name 'Public Folders' -EdbFilePath 'C:\Exchange Server Databases\Public Folders\Public Folders.edb' -LogFolderPath 'C:\Exchange Server Databases\Public Folders\Logs'
Mount Public Folders
Failed
Error:
Couldn't mount the database that you specified. Specified database: Public Folders; Error code: An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The Microsoft Exchange Replication service may not be running on server VLAB01.ephora.local. Specific RPC error message: Error 0x6d9 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper) from cli_MountDatabase.
An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The Microsoft Exchange Replication service may not be running on server VLAB01.ephora.local. Specific RPC error message: Error 0x6d9 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper) from cli_MountDatabase
Error 0x6d9 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper) from cli_MountDatabase
Exchange Management Shell command attempted:
mount-database -Identity 'Public Folders'
================
I've looked at the services and the Microsoft Exchange Replication and RPC Client Access services are running, so I don't know what else to do.
FYI, I have an Exchange 2007 server on another server. I have installed a new Exchange 2008 server on Server 2008 and am also in the proces of removing the Exchange 2007 server. On that installation, I am unable to uninstall Exchange 2007 because it keeps telling me that I need to move my Public Folders or delete them.
My end goal is to get rid of Exchange 2007 and then only use Exchange 2010. Everything seems to be working fine on the Exchagne 2010 server except I cannot create public folders.
Thanks,
John
