troubleshooting Question

Exchange stopped working for no reason.

Hi all,
I need some major quick help.  My clients exchange server quit working for no understandable reason.  I called my forwarder and he stated that the server was reporting not enough resources.  I don't  think that is the issue the server was not touched and from my analysis the server stopped receiving mail at 11:35 pm.  I am not an expert on exchange, barely an intermediate.  Not sure where  to start looking for the problem and would appreciate any advice.
