I created a custom html module to place a static/non-joomla driven menu inside of it. I added the CSS to my template's css. When I publish it to the left though the menu inherits the module block style for the left position. In my custom html module I am applying the CSS to the div's and I do see some of the changes there but it's not displaying properly and is wrapped inside of the template's module block style. Any help is appreciated.

I have attached a screenshot showing you the image I want to overlay the menu on.

Pretty sure that I did not submit the question the way it's being viewed but sorry nonetheless.

I've almost got it but can't seem to get the top and bottom images for the frame to center with the sidebarmain's background. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
