outlook .pst password

I am trying to import a .pst file originally stored on Windows XP, to Office 2011 for Mac but it is asking me for a password for the .pst file! I had no idea it even had a password. How can I import the .pst file into the Mac? Do I have to go to Windows and Un-password protect the file somehow? Any urgent help would be enormously appreciated! Kind regards Mike
