The Administrator account on the our 2008 SBS seems to have lost some privileges. For example when I to try to access Database Management the Exchange Management Console I don't have access to or see the database stores. If I create a new Administrator account and all the privileges I can access the database stores. My question is: How do I repair the original Administrator account back to original state?

I dont think you can repair administrator account..But you can try as per this MS article..http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd443464%28WS.10%29.aspx

Also check whether the particular privilege added for admin account like database administrator,DNS, domain admin, enterprise admin etc..Seems to be some permission missing.

Another option, I have to use in my domain with the same problem was to copy the administrator account and then use the run as other user to open the exchange management console or use session for this new copied user to access your sbs server and with this you should be able to access all the features that you need.

Thanks but the solution I'm looking for is to repair the original Administrator account. I've already created a new Administrator account (administrator2) but it sometimes fails in it's ability to access functions on the server needed by an Administrator account.

I guess Administrator user profile is corrupt.

Login with another user Rename the Existing Administrator user profile

After renaming the profiles login again using administrator ,this will create new administrator profile and check if the issue is persist.

I've tried that but still it is not the solution I'm looking for. The only solution I am looking for is to repair the original Administrator account.
