Remote Desktop RDP problem stopping a service

I want to stop the service for my Nod32 anti-virus.  I am logged on as administrator via remote desktop, but it says my permissions are denied.  I cannot uninstall it, nor can I modify my msconfig.  My computer is 2000 miles away, so I need to do this via RDP, or VPN (I can also VPN into the machine).  What can I do?

Some AV programs are clever, and won't let you make modifications over RDP. Can you modify the registry remotely? If so, you could try and remove the entries from the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Run branch.

Or you could try the NOD32 removal tool from http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2116
