How to forward copies of emails sent to specific domains to an internal Exchange mailbox

We are running Exchange 2007 in a medium size environment of around 300 mailboxes. We have Journaling enabled, with Enterprise Vault performing archiving of the mailboxes and the Journal mailbox.

We have a legal issue that requires IT to capture copies of every message sent from our employees to a few specific external domains, and have these forwarded to a mailbox created for this purpose only. Hopefully this is enough information. If not, let me know and I will provide more detail.

My question is, how to configure this is the best manner? would it be best to configure Rules in the Journaling mailbox? If there another option that makes mroe sense, possibly on the Hub server?

Hi,

Probably the best thing to do is use Transport Rules on your exchange server (on Organization, Hub Transport level). I think what you describe can be done with these rules.

Look herer http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Transport-Rules-Exchange-Server-2007.html for some additional information.
yes I think th best way is to create a transport rule.

A Transport Rule makes sense, but its not working so far. I review the process on Technet, and I;ve tried a several settings. Here is what I have that I feel is most accurate:

Apply rule to messages
when a MessageHeader contains "@gmail.com"
copy message to SecAdmin Mailbox

Technet article:

Any suggestions on what I may be missing?

Thank you!

Thats odd. I dont have the same options in Exchange. Are referencing 2010? We are on 2007. Here is what I see:

Opps, yes the attached was taken from 2010.... I dont have 2007 to try figure it out. but I think it is doable in 2007.

Sorry for that...
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do this in 2007? Seems like I'm almost there but the options are off or missing.

Thank you!

Yeah the options just arent available in the Transport Rules of Exhange 2007 to make this work. I set up Rules in the Journaling mailbox instead and it work with the additional overhead. Thanks!
