Do you know what the local administrator password is? It should have asked you to reset it when you did the dcpromo to remove AD. You should still be able to login to the system using that. Then its just a case of making sure the server is part of the AD, that the main AD server is available and that permissions are set OK to the file system/shares

try the username and password which u u sed while u uninstalling active directory....

check the caps - and check if it's multilanguage pack installed then use Alt+Shift key to change the language

Do you have any other domain controller? Running DCpromo only demotes the domain controller roles and does not remove the server from domain. So, ideally you should be able to login using any other or administrator account. Can you post a screenshot of the error that you get when you try to login (use RDP to login and then take the screen shot). Also post the error you get when you try to access the shares.
One another thing.... In case you remember the password that was set when the server was built (ie. OS was installed) then try to get into recovery console (In case this is a server class machine then you may have provide the RAID controller drivers when booting with OS CD) and do the following:

ren C:\Windows\System32\Config\SAM C:\Windows\System32\Config\SAM.old
copy C:\Windows\Repair\SAM C:\Windows\System32\Config\SAM

Restart into normal mode and use the password that was set for the very first time.

(PS:If you don't know the password then try leaving password field blank, that is what many Administrator set when they install the server for the first time.)

Hi everyone,

I will try all your suggestions within the next few hours.

I have dcpromo before many times and have never had this problem. I did set a password during dcpromo, which was the same as the current administrator password. That does not work.

I tried computer name/administrator and the password and that did not work either.

It is very wired. I will try your suggestions and report back with the next few hours with screenshot of error.

Thanks
