SBS 2011 Standard OWA returning error suddenly

When users are accessing the remote exchange and outlook they are suddenly getting this screen.

Where do I start to diagnose?

As the error indicates, there are more details than it is revealing for security. Follow its advice to get those details as well as check for relevant event logs.

Ok I wil do that. I should mention this just started happening out of the blue.  No changes were made to anything to cause this.

To access OWA you need to use the url:
http:/servername/owa

Regardless of URL though, SBS (or exchange) doesn't usually throw a runtime error when accessing the exchange vdir. And without getting more details, can't even begin to speculate at what clobbered the IIS app.

Try and open OWA on the server itself, this normally gives better error information.

This will help too:

If you want detailed Error display in IE when testing from the CAS server = add reg key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fusion\EnableLog (DWORD) =1 to the registry on the CAS server
