Problem installing air application

Hi, upon running the installer for Wimp (a danish music streaming service) I get this om my windows 7 x64 desktop:

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

Well, there is nothing wrong with the file. It installs fine on my laptop which, incidentally, runs the same OS as my desktop. I also tried un- and reinstalling air, rebooting, cleaning the registry, turning off firewall and AV, system restore and so on. A google search confirms that the problem is widespread and occurs to numerous air applications.

I have tried installing other air applications, by the way, and the run fine. So shortly:

The kind of problem seems to normal in relation to air applications, but in my case it only seems to be a problem with wimp... which - on the other hand - runs fine on other computers.

I hope some kind expert soul has got some advice for me. PF

Thanks  to all of you. I'll try the clean boot first. Then I will create another user, and try on another account.

With regard to the two questions. Air is up to date. There is only one source for downloading the installation file.
