Delete & Merge Hyper-V Snapshots from Exchange 2010 guest system

Hello guys,

I need some advice with the following problem:
I´m running Exchange 2010 on a 2008 R2 Hyper-V Server. Due to 4 snapshots I´m running out of space at host system. Now I´d like to delete the 4 snapshots, shut down Exchange guest system and wait till the merging is done.

Is this the correct way to go? I´m asking because I´m not sure if snapshot of Exchange 2010 guest is supported at all...

Yes, it is the correct way, on Shutdown, Hyper-V should ask you the question to merge the snapshot. You may have to complete this operation more than once, to remove all thje AVHD snapshots.

Microsoft do not recommend or support the running of production serv3ers on Snapshots.

Make sure you have enough dis space before shuting down and try to merge the snapshots.

Thanks for your reply!
Just to make sure: Merging especiallly Exchange-Snapshots should be working if I got you right?

I guess I´ll need at least as much free disc space as the biggest snapshot is?
