Look at the Notification Icon Sample.  That should tell you how to display tooltips for the icon.

I've just downloaded and tested the sample - you will see it operating if you use the menu to 'test' when the app is running.

AndyAinscow no doubt that your solution is working.

Now the question of how to put Trade Mark "tm" in the ToolTip string?

How should I put it in to C++ string?

How to put "type (ALT + 0153)" proposed by M-Manakhly into the string?

Commented:
When you are editing the string in the resource editor press the ALT key then type 0153 from the keypad.  The ™ symbol should appear.

I am trying this in Visual Studio, but it is not working for me.

I am pressing ALT than 0 than 1 than 5 than 3.

It doesn't print anything.

Please advice

Try it here.  You need to keep the ALT key pressed for all four digits, the symbol should appear once you release the ALT key.

When I am keeping Alt pressed and typing this four digits, I just get 4 dings of bell and nothing typed.

Please advice.

Do you have some sort of fancy keyboard that requires special drivers ?
Here it works without any problems.

That is why I said Keypad in my earlier post - I thought that was the correct term for that.

Anyway the normal number keys above the letters don't work for me either but the keypad works without problem.

longjumps - I think it is a keyboard/driver problem at your end.  I can enter the TM symbol into Visual Studio and here as a comment without problems.  (No beeps either - that is often a sign something is not being accepted as valid input)
