You just need to install the Terminal server components in contol panel - Programs and Features onto your new 2008 standard/r2 server
Commented:
With 2008 Server, you use Server Manager (which typically starts up when you login), and you add the Terminal Service role.
Under the Roles Summary section, click on Add Roles.  Step through the process to add Terminal Services and any dependent role services.

It shouldn't be a problem.
Windows 2008 terminal servers can co-exist with Windows 2003 terminal servers on the same network.
