Microsoft Licensing keys

I was planning on rebuilding a server for a customer and I have run into a problem finding the correct disks.   They have the paperwork showing the volume license key for Windows 2003 Std but they can not find any of the disks for the original installation.

I have a set of disks for Windows 2003 R2 Std from another installation.  I was wondering if I could use these disks and the volume License key for 2003 Std.

Sorry, but you cannot...

Windows 2003 and Windows 2003 R2 are totally separate products and are licensed separately with different keys!

Thanks.   I was pretty sure of the answer but I was hoping I would be able to use the disks I have and finish up tonight.

If these are volume license installs, why not just log in to the MS volume licensing web site and download the media and appropriate keys?  At worst, call MS - you may be able to order media (if they still have any left).
