Hi again,

starting point is "smitty sysback".

Here you can set the various options and initiate backup or recovery.

Please keep in mind that sysback is a licensed (payable) product from IBM/Tivoli and not part of the AIX base.

Hi,
Yes, but can I restore a backup from a disk to another disk mounted after?
Thanks,

I'm not quite sure what you're after, but restoring to a different location is possible.

"smitty sb_restore" -> (select device, data type ) -> Fill in appropriate value for "Destination (if different)"

For logical volume backups, enter the name of a new logical volume you created beforehand. The data is restored to the new logical volume.

You can specify multiple destinations for multiple logical volumes, volume groups, or file systems to restore when using the "Destination Directory Filelist" option.
