Could you explain me how to create and configure a cluster with HACMP in AIX 6.1?
Where are the important logs of HACMP?
Thanks

Hi,

it's always preferrable using smit(ty) with HACMP: "smitty hacmp" opens the start menu.

For a two-node cluster there is a configuration assistant:  "smitty cl_smartassistant"

A guided setup of a cluster is also accessible from here: "smitty cm_initialization_and_standard_config_menu_dmn"

The first menu point is the assistant from above, but you will get more control over what you're doing by walking through the menu points in line 2, 3, and 4.

The pedestrian way, giving you the highest degree of control but requiring a certain basic knowlege of HACMP starts here:
"smitty cm_extended_config_menu_dmn"

As for the log files: All the logfile names and locations are viewable/settable from here: "smitty clusterlog_redir.select".
You'll find a list of all logfiles, select them one by one to see their locations.

Setting up HACMP is not a quite trivial task.

You should try to get familiar with the underlying concepts and the different features/facilities first:

Here is a list containing links to all the HACMP/PowerHA material:
