PowerShell - Unable to find a default server with Active Directory Web Services running

We currently run two Windows 2008 SP2 domain controllers and one RODC at a remote site - also running Windows 2008 SP2

The domain functional level is set to Windows Server 2008

I have just installed our first Windows 2008 R2 SP1 server into the domain and installed Exchange 2010 on this server. As we are moving from Lotus Notes this is the first installation of Exchange within the domain

The Exchange installation was successful but when I go into PowerShell on the R2 server I get the following message –

WARNING: Error initializing default drive: ‘Unable to find a default server with Active Directory Web Services running’

Do I need to install extra roles / features on this server or the domain controllers themselves

I solved the issue by downloading the relevant Active Directory Management Gateway Service (Active Directory Web Service for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008) file – in this case - Windows6.0-KB968934-x86.msu which can be found under http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=008940c6-0296-4597-be3e-1d24c1cf0dda

You also need to download and install a Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 SP1 hotfix - Hotfix KB969166. The file NDP35SP1-KB969166-x86 can be found under http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969166

Install both of these components (on your Windows 2008 Domain Controller(s), reboot the server (s) and the Powershell error will be sorted
