OK I am currently working with a 32 bit OS using VS 2005 ( 32 bit) I have had inquiries as to what it would take to design in a 64 bit environment.

Here are my questions

1- I am currently working on a 32 bit OS do I need to upgrade to a 64 bit OS to design in VS 2005?
2-If I do upgrade my OS to 64 bit will I need to upgrade my Visual Studios to 64 bit? or can I still use the same 32 bit VS 2005.

there are no 64-bits version of Visual Studio.

From within the VS IDE you can select which platform you target (32 or 64 or ANY).

Beginning in Visual Studio 2005 you can compile your application and specify that it should run on a 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64. WOW64 is a compatibility environment provided by the operating system that allows a 32-bit application to run on a Windows 64-bit operating system.

How do I specify the change in the build for 64 bit system? Where in the IDE is this located?
