I have no Ubuntu experience, good windows experience.

On boot I get:
user login:
Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 21 on CPU 0
Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?
Dazed and confused, but trying to continue

Well i don't know what this message is causing. But did this message occur after a fresh install or on a running server?  Did you check the logs if the message appears just while booting or in a regular manner? Do you have the latest updates on your Ubuntu Server? Did you check the hardware with some hardware check program? If you have time you could use a new HDD with a fresh install of Ubuntu to see if this error still occurs? You could also make a backup of your system and update your Ubuntu to 10.0.4 LTS since this error could be kernel based?t

these are just suggestions no real masterplan.
