Adding an existing domain to Rootdomain

Hi,

i`ve a little problem with our existing Domain.
We`ve created a root domain (ads.intern) and subdomain (xxx.ads.intern).
The problem is that the subdomain xxx.ads.intern is not longer a child domain. however...

There is no Server from the childdomain in our Site Name and i cannot access any servers/computers from the root in the child domain anymore.

Is it possible to add our childdomain again with the ads.intern?
We`ve installed a fileserver with group/user access and much more which depents on Active Directory... Last week we`ve migrated all 250 users to the xxx.ads.intern.

So, is it possible to "readd" this child to our root domain?

Thanks + rgds,

What happend to the child domain exactly?, you need to restore it if possible you cannot re-add it as such but maybe re create it...but if you can restore the set up this would be the best option.

We don`t know what exactly happened.

In the default-First-Site-Name there are only our 2 Root DCs, not the Child DC.

The Child Domain is listed in our DNS Forward Lookup Zone...

When i recreate it, it will destroy all our Access rights on our fileserver which depends on our active directory users right?

Yeah it will pretty much blow all AC's away...as well as flattening AD, it will be quite some mess to clean up.

Did you only have the one Domain controller in the child domain?

is there no way to "reconnect" this DC?
Yes we`ve only one DC in the child...
