I am having an issue when I installed Active Directory on my Windows Server 2008 machine. I added the server to the domain and ran the dcpromo. After a reboot, I went to administrative tools and licked active directory domains and trusts and I got the error that appears in the title of that question. I need to know if there is another solution than to just redo the server.

Thanks in advanced,

Nathan

can you run dcdiag and post the output please ?
I actually figured out finally what was wrong. For some reason the Server Service was disabled. This isn't a physical server I'm working on, it's just a VM that I'm doing for a class so I'm not sure why it was disabled.
oh ok.  thats good you were able to resolve your issue.   If you need anything else feel me to ask.

thanks.
