best way to move Public folder from one Exchnge 2007 to another exchange 2007

Hello Gurus,

I need to move a Public folder from one Exchange 2007 to another exchange 2007 servr. Both are running on windows 2003 server -64bit. Actually I am working on to remove one Exchange 2007 server from a farm and currently moving mailboxes. The destination server does have a public folder database and has some public folders in it. While I will be eventually removing the Source Exchange server - I have one more Q. Do i need to move anything else apart from Public folders and mailboxes? I mean Schedule+ Free/Busy or anything?

If I follow the steps blow - will it work for me?

1. Add replica of Public folder to destination server.
2.  Wait for replication to complete.
3.  Remove the original replica on all folders.
4.  Remove the original public Folder.

If you have Outlook 2003 client then you need to replicate them also

Yes, we do have few outlook 2003 client - though most of are Outlook 2007. So will replicate that folder too.
I will update you as soon as I start working on this.

got a small problem.. After adding 2nd server to replicate the folder - its not replicating. only the mail folder is replicated and NOT the complete hierarchy. no sub folders are being replicated.

You need to add replica for all folders including sub folders

WOW...so I have to go in each and every folder and add a 2nd server in replication tab?   is there any other way?

how does this works?

AddReplicatoPFRecursive.ps1 –TopPulblicFolder <\folder> -ServerToAdd <servername>

ie. SouceExchange has public folder called Sample and has 100ds of folders underneath, I want to replicate this folder and all of its folder underneath to DesttinationExchange.

If I run this command from SourceExchange - will it work?

AddReplicatoPFRecursive.ps1 –TopPulblicFolder <\Sample> -ServerToAdd DestinationExchange

So, finally I started public folder replication between two exchange 2007 servers and had to stop it as it was generating huge transaction logs. Now if I try to replicate the folder again after enabling Circular logging on that SG, It does replicate the hirarchy but not the content. I am Propagating Replica list using PFDAVAdmin....

Any idea.....

It could be due to corrupt message in the PF. Other option is to export the data to PST and merge it to new server for the folder, which is not replicating. Post a new item in a folder and see if that replicates or not.

ok...so the problem was something else. As I suspended the previous replication, it was not replicating files. As soon as I run resume command the Replication starts working again...I will keep you posted how things goes though :)
