Hello,  We received a Windows 2008 R2 server that was already setup with a temp license server for RDS.  When we received it, the license period had already expired.  We purchased a 5 CAL (per user) for RDS.  I have enabled the License server, but when I try to connect to the server, I get a "The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing protocol".  I have checked previous articles, but they do not help.  I can ping the server using NETBios and FQDN.  If I am on the server and use the RDS connection manager, I can RDP to the server without issue.  Any ideas?

When you are on the RDS Server you are trying to connect to the license server? Is the RDS and license server running within a Domain?

When you check your RDS Configuration does it state that it is connected to the correct licensing server?
