Windows 2008 and RDS

Hello,  We received a Windows 2008 R2 server that was already setup with a temp license server for RDS.  When we received it, the license period had already expired.  We purchased a 5 CAL (per user) for RDS.  I have enabled the License server, but when I try to connect to the server, I get a "The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing protocol".  I have checked previous articles, but they do not help.  I can ping the server using NETBios and FQDN.  If I am on the server and use the RDS connection manager, I can RDP to the server without issue.  Any ideas?
