Is there a way to run a Windows 7 image on an iPad2?  I looking for a solution similiar to how I run my Windows 7 image with VMware on my iMac.  No interest in remoting in to a PC by remote desktop.  I want the Win 7 image locally on the iPad.  Any ideas welcome.
Thanks

You'll not be able to run a Windows 7 PC on an Ipad. They don't have compatible processors or have enough disk space, or compatible graphics cards.

But you can connect to various technologies and use Windows 7 as if you were at a Windows 7 Desktop.

1. VMware View with VMware View iPad Client.
2. Citrix Xen with Citrix Receiver Client for Ipad.
3. RDP to a Windows 7 Desktop using many different RDP Apps for the iPad.

However in the future, it will be possible to checkout a Virtual Machine using Local Mode with the VMware View Client for the iPad.

So, never say never, it mighjt be possible in the future, to run Virtual Machines on an Ipad.

I'm not sure if the iPad is ARM based - if it is, it may be theoretically possible to run Windows 8 on the iPad when that's released since there will be an ARM version of it... but even then, I wouldn't expect it to be easy or reliable.  Basically, I'd call it ill-advised at best.

Ipad2 is ARM based.

But agree with the above.  You're not going to get a local image of Windows to run on the iPad platform at this time.  Remote-control of another machine is the only option.
