asked on Missing Desktop icons with Windows 7 after every reboot?
I still have my desktop icons missing after every reboot. Yes, I know how to rt. click and show desktop icons...... But, why will they not stay up after I reboot?

Try to reload windows explorer from the task manager. CTL+ALT+DEL then click file and new task. then type explorer.exe and press ok
1) Did you do any changes? Did you change drivers? Installed new hardware or antivirus last days?
2) Create a test account, do you have the same problems? If no, it is possible your user profile has been corrupted.
If the issue still persist try this one by one:
A) Run System File Checker tool

B) Do you have the problem in safe mode?
If the issue still persist .... Grrrrrr Let me know :-)
We will have to find which application is causing the problem.
