Have a machine Shop that runs lots of orders.
We Are looking for a bar code solution that will tell management
where the jobs are on the shop floor and what machine it is on.
instead of having a person run around trying to find it.
They are currently using an Excel Spread sheet and would like the bar code reader
to update that excel spread sheet.

It is possible to write some not-too-complex custom VBA code that scans the data in the spreadsheet whenever input is received from the barcode reader. What the code does and how it is implemented is up to the user's requirements. Is there just one computer running the spreadsheet, or is there one computer per machine all accessing a shared spreadsheet?
