I need to know exactly which port on the network's SonicWALL firewall to open up which will then connect to the internal IP address of the file server where the users have their file shares.

Alright. I'm just trying to make sure that I know exactly which protocol to tell the SonicWALL tech support department to open when I call their tech support department tonight.

bypassing core firewall and creating PPTP VPN setup will be difficult, why dont you use Sonicwall GVC (Global VPN Client) to gain user access from outside to one server or your LAN?
