asked on

Location of licensing server role

Hi,
I am setting up a single RDS server (WS2008 R2) and wonder if the Licensing Server role can be on the same machine. I do have another WS2008 R2 which is a print server so it could be on that if necessary. At the moment the sole DC is WS2003.
Thanks in advance.

Leave it with the DC, for easy access(If DNS resids here) and it should not cause any issues.

Santasi24,
the DC in this case is running W2k3; a W2k3 TS LS doesn't support terminal servers running W2k8 or later.

Thanks.
Yes I knew that it had to be on a WS2008 machine.
So is the consensus that it would be best on the WS2008 print server?
