w3wp.exe high CPU

Hi

I have been having problems accessing my OWA as well as syncing our iPhones via Activesync. I have since reinstalled a certificate in ISS and now OWA works fine. But our iPhones still wont connect. Also, the file w3wp.exe is constantly near 90% CPU power on the server.

Windows SBS 2003 SP2
iPhones version 4.3.2

Many thanks in advance

w3wp.exe is an IIS Application Pool Worker Process.
Check the settings of the Application Pool(s) within MSIIS. Generally you will need to adjust a few things from the default like:
- Allow 20 failures with 5 minutes (instead of 5 failures within 5 minutes)
- Startup/shutdown time changed from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.
- Recycled every 720 minutes (12 hours) instead of the default of 1740 minutes.

-- Preferably use a Domain User for the Identity of the AppPool instead of "Network Service", etc...

--> Also check the IIS Logs as it might give you more clue of what is going on like status of the request (200 for success) and the Time Taken to serve these requests.

Hope this helps.
