Hyper v management via win 7

I need to manage a hyper v core server install. I have windows 7 but for some reason sp1 will not install so I cannot use the remote admin tools. Is there another free product I can use
thanks

there are some suggestions here

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee449475%28WS.10%29.aspx

But other than remove SP1, Install Remote Admiistration tools, add the feature, and re-install SP1.

when it gets installed how can i access it, it does not seem straight forward
You need to go to Program and Features, and Enable the Hyper-V tools.

It's not obvious after the installation.

1. Start Control Panel

2. Program and Features

3. Turn Windows features on or off

4. Select Remote Server Administration Tools

5. Role Administration Tools

6. Hyper-V Tools

7. and then Select Hyper-V Manager in Administrive Tools in the Start Bar.

thanks I setup the users turned off the firewall on hyper v host and configured my machine, I'm not quite clear on the hvremote software there does not seem to be a reference for making a firewall exception on the server side. I would like to  keep the firewall on, do you know the correct commands to make the exception. Also from a management point of view is it better to use a windows 7 machine on site or what do people use to manage it remotely? vpn? open specific ports on external firewall?

Thanks for all your help
