PerformacePoint Services and Secure Store Services
When Im setting up secure store service, I want to locate the content db to another database server other than SharePoints database. When I do this I get the following error: The timer job completed, but failed on one or more machines in the farm.
Would you know a work around? Thanks

You want to move it to another server? Or you want to create it on another server?

The Secure Store Services has not yet been enabled so Id like to enable this service and have the db created on a different server other than the default (SharePoint database server)
Does the database server added to your SharePoint farm?

Yes the other SQL database server is already attached to the farm.

When creating the service app, just designate the correct db server in the server name box
I already tried doing that ... everything looked like it was going to work however I received the following message: The timer job completed, but failed on one or more machines in the farm. then the Secure Store Service App shows an error.

How exactly did you attach the SQL server to the farm? SQL boxes aren't "attached" to the farm.

When I go to Central Admin ... System Settings ... Manage Serves in this Farm: I see the other database server other than than the default SharePoint database server
Can you answer my last question?

The Farm Admin did not have the securityadmin role. Once I gave the Farm Admin that role ... I still received the error message.
However, once I deleted the content db from the SQL server and had it recreate it I was good to go. The Secure Store Service seems to be properly setup now.
The issue seemed to be a combination of two things: the content db was already created and the Farm Admin did not have the securityadmin role.
