Question regarding an EMR report server using SQL

We are setting up a report server to be used with Nextgen EMR/EPM. On the main DB server we are using SQL standard x64 2008. On the new report server we are going to be using SQL standard 200 R2 x64. Every night the main DB is going to replicate to the report server. Is this a problem since they will be two different versions of SQL?

My next question is for licensing the SQL report server. Are we going to need to have seperate licenses for the report server or can we use the licenses we have for the main DB server?

Thanks
Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Thank you for your reply and I also made a mistake in my question about licensing the SQL. Instead of licensing my question is more about CAL's. We are obviously still going to purchase SQL 2008 R2 but we want the CAL's to be interchangable between the DB and the report server. Do you still think we need to contact MS about this?

Thanks
