 asked on

how can you tell if you have SharePoint 2007 Enterprise version x64 or x86

You would think it would be easy but I have searched and googled a couple of hours and can't find the answer and I need to download updates

the OS is 32 bit on our SharePoint server, but all I can download for SP 2007 is x64 or x86
ufarooq

Good find it is tricky.

I don’t think you can have 64 bit MOSS on 32 bit OS. I am sure you have 32 bit MOSS Installed on you machine

on 64 bit machines you will see 'Microsoft Office Server ' folder in 'c:\program files' folder
if its 32 bit install it will be in c:\programefiles86 ' folder .
by the way ,this can be different if you change the folder at the time if install

Let us know !

Sorry, ufarooq, didn't see your post...

Minimum requirements you have posted are right it says clearly all systems 64 bit that can be used to install MOSS 64 bit .

The folder in program files says microsoft office server.  We definitely have SP server 2007 enterprise, but when you right click My Comptuer/properties, that is nothing that says either x64 or x86 and I notice on all our 32 bit servers that nothing is shown as 32 bit or anything else.

Ufarooq: are you saying there is a 32 bit download for SharePoint 2007 server?  If so, where is it.
Nsyyoung: I got to Help contents and couldn't lodate system administration.  We have XP loaded on this SharePoint server.

I was told our sharepoint server is x386 - so would that correspond to x86 download?

I found it in Help and support as nsyyoung pointed out, but it was listed differently.  I never would have thought to look there. And our server is x86.  Thanks
nsyyoung

Glad you found it and glad I could help; I was looking at my own XP laptop when I typed that...

yes there is a 32 bit download available for MOSS and its updates as well .
infact Companioes who start using MOSS right after it released , they all use 32 biut version of sharpeoint on win 2003 server 32 bit .

in your case i am not sure , never sae this 386 , but i will try x86 downloads . I am sure you have 32 bit version of MOSS

this is the best link to download updates
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sharepointserver/bb735839
